How to get your mutual fund CAS statement
By Smit Bhansali · Updated 12 October 2026
If you've bought mutual funds through different apps, banks or fund houses, one free document lists them all: the Consolidated Account Statement, or CAS. Here's how to get it and which version to ask for.
What is a CAS?
The CAS is a single statement of every mutual fund folio in your name, across every fund house, with your purchases, SIP instalments, switches and redemptions. It comes from the registrars that keep fund houses' records, CAMS and KFintech, or from MF Central, which they run together. It's free and arrives by email.
How to get it
- Request a Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from CAMS (camsonline.com) or MF Central (mfcentral.com). It's free and covers every fund house.
- Choose the Detailed statement (with transactions), for a period that starts before your first investment, and set a password.
- Use the email address registered with your funds. The PDF usually arrives within minutes; open it with the password you set.
Detailed or summary?
Choose Detailed. It lists every transaction, which is what's needed to work out your real return (XIRR) and the tax on each sale. A summary statement only shows what you hold today, without the dates and amounts you invested.
For the period, pick a start date before your first investment, so nothing is left out.
What about the NSDL or CDSL statement?
The depositories, NSDL and CDSL, also email a monthly CAS covering your demat account. It's laid out differently, and Quantfolio can't read it yet. For mutual funds, ask CAMS or MF Central for the detailed statement instead.
What to do with it
Upload it to the Quantfolio mutual fund tracker with its password. Every fund comes in at once, with daily NAVs, your XIRR and capital gains by financial year. The PDF and password are read once to pull out your transactions and then discarded; they're never stored.
